Parent Program

Parent Program aims to inspire, encourage and embolden parents to imagine better, to build rich and full lives for their son or daughter and themselves.

Parent Program will:

  1. provide education and information to assist parents to imagine a full and rich life for their son or daughter;
  2. identify and develop family leaders; and
  3. provide opportunities for parents to develop networks of support around themselves.

Mamre values parents and wants to inspire, embolden and encourage them to imagine better.

Eligibility

Parent Program welcomes mothers, fathers or primary carers of people with a disability, who are currently using or who have used other Mamre family support services.

General information sessions are open to any families.

How does it work?

Each year Parent Program plans its events in response to need and feedback from parents.

Parent Program has a Co-ordinator who is responsible for the day-to-day management and contact with parents, and reports to the appropriate Team Leader. Other facilitators and presenters are engaged as required.

Mamre asks parents to:

  • support the purpose of Parent Program;
  • meet accountability requirements for cash transfers and purchases;
  • provide constructive feedback on events; and
  • feel free to make suggestions for future events, or topics for discussion.
